Pastor's Thought for the Week

Summer is here and although it came subtly, we will begin to expect certain changes in the weather. We do not wake up expecting snow as we might in January. We place an emotional demand on the weather to be warm or even hot and when it is not, we are disappointed. The truth is that we have every right to expect heat in the summer. It is the same with our spiritual seasons. As we progress we should expect changes, God certainly expects them. He equips us for service and wants to see us serve with increasing maturity and effectiveness. It would look out of place for an adult to drink from a baby bottle, but many Christians are just as out of season as that. It is time to take responsibility for our own actions. Stop blaming other people or our sad history for our failures and begin to assume our position in the Kingdom. The fate of a generation awaits your decision to act in season.
